Family LIfe Resources

Being in relationship, whether as spouses, significant others, parents, children, etc. requires ongoing investment.  Sometimes even it just needs a jump start. The following resources are offered as useful tools, and Rev. Miller is available if you need to unpack some things... especially if there is conflict.

Appointments are available Monday-Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Renewing Romance in Your Relationship

The images to the left provide a useful means to improve and/or "reset" a relationship.  Perhaps the most useful element is the mechanism for reinforcing positive change.  It is just too easy to ask someone we love "promise me you'll" never or always...  and the promise that is elicited can be set up for failure.  This is why I have emphasized a 3-week process, with the promise being for 7-days, evaluated with POSITIVE feedback, then another 7-day period, and finally a third.  It takes that long to overcome some habits which our loved one has found painful.  If you are interested in this methodolgy and have questions, contact Rev. Miller; he will be happy to talk you through it or meet with you for a practice session..

Suicide Prevention (Dec 2017).jpg

As "church" we have to talk about this... life matters!  This video is based upon suicide training I assembled and conducted as an active duty Navy Chaplain, so it doesn't approach it from a religious perspective.  To be honest, for all the dozens of interventions I have been involved in, there is a need for compassion and understanding.  Yes, some do attempt or complete a suicide out of some element of manipulation, but most, to be honest... are just wanting their seemingly inescapable pain to end.  I will later add additional thoughts.
